Man charged in shooting at Kalihi game room appears in court
A 35-year-old man made his initial court appearance at Honolulu District Court today after he was charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Kalihi.
Prescott S. Kesi stood before Judge Lono Lee on charges of one count of second-degree attempted murder and two counts of firearm-related charges.
His bail is set at $500,000.
Police said a suspect later identified as Kesi argued with a 28-year-old man at a game room on Kalani Street about 10:40 p.m. Sunday when he allegedly shot the victim.
Police said the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was taken in critical condition to a hospital.
Kesi turned himself in at the Pearl City police station about 1:20 a.m. Monday where he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and five counts of criminal contempt of court.
He has a criminal record of driving without a license and harassment, both of which are petty misdemeanors.
