With one second left, Wyoming gets the first down at the UH 14. But the Cowboys tried to spike it and time expired. Hawaii players hoist the Paniolo Trophy with the 17-13 comeback win.

Freshman Chevan Cordeiro finished with 148 yards on 19 of 29 passes in his first UH start. Read more about Cordeiro in the game recap here.

8:45 p.m.

Chevan Cordeiro throws a 38-yard scoring pass to JoJo Ward with 1:26 left to give UH a 17-13 lead.

Cordeiro escaped a pass rush, rolled to his right and launched the pass.

8:35 p.m.

Cooper Rothe converts a field goal from 23 yards with 5:31 left to give Wyoming a 13-10 lead.

Nico Evans’ 63-yard run on a dive on first-and-15 from the Wyoming 10 set up the scoring drive.

8:15 p.m.

It took 44 minutes and 12 seconds for Chevan Cordeiro to throw the first TD pass of his UH career.

Cordeiro, who started in place of injured Cole McDonald, threw a 5-yard pass to Cedric Byrd to tie it at 10-10 with 48 seconds left in the third quarter.

Cordeiro, from the pocket, eyed a receiver on the left before throwing to Byrd in the left flat.

7:55 p.m.

Carl Granderson’s third career interception is a pick-6 covering 61 yards, giving the Cowboys a 10-3 lead with 8:14 left in the third quarter.

It was Chevan Cordeiro’s first interception of his UH career.

7:20 p.m.

Wyoming kicked a field goal.

Hawaii kicked a field goal.

That’s the recap for the first half as the game is tied 3-3 at halftime.

Hawaii rush end Kaimana Padello has two tackles, both for losses, a forced fumble and QB hurry.

In his first start, Hawaii quarterback Chevan Cordeiro has completed 9 of 15 passes for 60 yards.

7 p.m.

Warriors tie it at 3 on Ryan Meskell’s 39-yard field goal with 8:25 left in the second quarter.

The drive was set up on Justice Augafa’s 41-yard punt return in which he broke seven tackles.

6:35 p.m.

Fred Holly is stopped on fourth-and-2 from the Wyoming 4, ending the Warriors’ second drive.

The Warriors, who trail 3-0, were held scoreless in the opening quarter for the first time this season.

6:25 p.m.

The Cowboys take a 3-0 lead on Cooper Rothe’s 40-yard field goal with 8:06 left in the first quarter.

Chevan Cordeiro, who started in place of UH quarterback Cole McDonald, was 3-of-4 for nine yards in his collegiate debut.

6:10 p.m.

Chevan Cordeiro, a freshman from Saint Louis School, started at quarterback tonight for Hawaii. He did not play in UH’s first six games.

5:45 p.m.

The nation’s leading passer — Hawaii’s Cole McDonald — will not play in today’s game against Wyoming at Aloha Stadium.

McDonald did not attend practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. But he participated in Thursday’s extended walk-through session at the Ching Athletic Complex.

There was a player wearing McDonald’s No. 13 jersey participating in the first warm-up session today. But McDonald was not on the field during the second pre-game warmup session.
