State opens database of land information to public

    The producer of the “Hawaii Five-0” TV show, Eye Productions Inc., pays $600,000 a year to rent the Hawaii Film Studio on 7.4 acres of land owned by the state within a larger 46.7-acre parcel mainly occupied by Kapiolani Community College. This information is included in a new online database where the public can look up who uses state and county land in Hawaii, and how much they pay for the use.

An inventory of land owned by the state and who pays to use it has been laid out in a new statewide public online database after more than a decade of efforts to create such a system. Read more
