Kaneohe-bound H-3 closing this weekend for tunnel maintenance
The H-3 freeway is scheduled for closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Halawa and Halekou interchanges Saturday night through Sunday morning for routine maintenance in the Harano Tunnel.
The closures are scheduled to take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. over two weekends, including this weekend, and Dec. 8 and 9, state officials said.
Motorists can use the Pali and Likelike highways as alternate routes, according to state officials, and are encouraged to go to GoAkamai.org or the app to check on up-to-the-minute traffic conditions on the Koolau routes before getting behind the wheel.
Electronic message boards will also be displayed to inform motorists of the closures.
