City officials said Kualoa Regional Park is scheduled for closure Oct. 29 through 31 for the upgrade of water main near the entrance.

City officials said Kualoa Regional Park is scheduled for closure Oct. 29 through 31 for the upgrade of the water main near the entrance. The closure, which affects one of the park’s campgrounds, is required because water service will be suspended during the maintenance.

Kualoa Regional Park has two campgrounds — Kualoa Campground A is a three-day campground, from Friday to Monday — and will remain open for the camping period preceding the maintenance work, from 8 a.m. Oct. 26 to 8 a.m. Oct. 29. Kualoa Campground B is a five-day campground, from Friday to Wednesday, and will be closed from Oct. 26 to 31.

The online camping reservation system will reflect these changes, starting this afternoon.

The park is scheduled to reopen on Nov. 1, barring any delays, city officials said, while Kualoa Campground B will be reopened to permitted campers on Nov. 2.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding while this maintenance work is being completed,” said city officials in a news release.
