No advisories are currently in effect for any of the Hawaiian islands.

12:19 p.m.

The National Weather Service has canceled the flash flood watch for Oahu, but the advisory remains in effect for Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, Maui and Big Island until midnight tonight.

Expect rain showers statewide through today and the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Drier weather may return Friday, according to the forecast.

“Wet weather will continue into midweek as a weak cold front moves across the state beginning Sunday. Trade winds will return behind the front. Increased moisture and lingering instability will continue to enhance showers statewide, favoring windward and mountain areas, through Thursday,” the forecast said.

6 a.m.

The National Weather Service has extended a flash flood watch for Kahoolawe, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Hawaii island through this evening.

Heavy rains continued to spread over the Hawaiian isles, increasing the chances of flooding from Oahu to Hawaii island.

“A moist and unstable atmosphere is producing flooding rains. Winds are light, so heavy showers may sit over the same area for some time,” according to the advisory issued at 3:20 a.m. today.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Kona, Kohala, Waianae coast, central Oahu, Oahu’s north shore and south shore, Molokai’s leeward and windward sides, Maui’s central valley, leeward and windward west sides.
