A 20-year-old man was back in in police custody today after he bolted from a police transport vehicle after being arrested on suspicion operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs in Nanakuli.

According to police, the suspect was initially arrested for the driving offense as well as not having motor vehicle insurance and two outstanding warrants around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday but escaped as he was being placed in the vehicle. He was located 20 minutes later a short distance away and re-arrested on suspicion of second-degree escape.
