Waipahu Intermediate School principal Randall Dunn visited Melanie Ishihara’s pre-algebra class Wednesday, announcing that the students will participate in GEAR UP Hawaii, a program that helps low-income public school students enroll and succeed in college. Ishihara is seated in front of Dunn.
