A 27-year-old Makiki man was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Manoa early today.

Police said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Wilder Avenue at the intersection with Alexander Street at approximately 3:55 a.m. The pedestrian may have been in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

Police said the vehicle — described as an older model white panel van with windows — fled the scene and has not been located at this time.

Speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The pedestrian sustained a head injury and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to call the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division at 723-3413.
