A 56-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in the Ala Moana area Tuesday night.

Police said a white 2017 Honda CRV operated by a 59-year-old Kaneohe man was traveling westbound on Ala Moana Boulevard at approximately 10 p.m.

The vehicle struck the woman who was walking across the roadway toward Ala Moana Center. Police said she was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Emergency Medical Services treated and transported her in serious condition to a hospital. She was later downgraded to critical condition.

Lt. James Slayter of the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division said the driver did not sustain any injuries.

Speed, alcohol and drugs were not involved.

Police are continuing their investigation.
