Man arrested in assault of officer in Waipahu

2018 January 12 SPT - HSA PHOTO BY BRUCE ASATO basato@staradvertiser.com The Armed Services Disciplinary Control Board put out an advisory on Waikiki crime, specifically in the Kalakaua Avenue/Royal Hawaiian Avenue intersection late December. There are about a dozen establishments in this area that were mentioned in the Advisory from Moose's to Tsunamis and Club Alley Cat. ASDCB meets periodically and can place establishment off limits that would mean military members who frequent them could face punishment up to court martial. Police arrested a 25-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a police officer Wednesday night in Waipahu.

The 38-year-old officer was performing his duties when the man allegedly assaulted him at about 9:54 p.m.

Police arrested the man at 10:02 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer on Pupukahi Street.
