About 2,000 gallons of wastewater spilled into a storm drain that drains into the ocean Sunday at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, a Navy Facilities Hawaii spokeswoman said.

The spill occurred at about 7:10 a.m. near Bravo Pier 13, adjacent to the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard facilities.

Navy crews responded and found a 4- to 6-inch temporary, above-ground bypass line had ruptured. The spill was stopped by 8:30 a.m.

All repairs were completed today, and the Navy notified the state Department of Health about the spill.
