Freshman Chevan Cordeiro ignites Hawaii’s bowl-clinching rally

    The Hawaii Warriors converged on the Island Showdown trophy after their 35-28 win over the UNLV Rebels. Hawaii now qualifies for the Hawaii Bowl.

    Hawaii freshman quarterback Chevan Cordeiro ran for a first down during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win against UNLV. The Saint Louis graduate led the Rainbow Warriors to touchdowns on his first three possessions as UH overcame a 15-point deficit in the final period.

A freshman quarterback gave a once-upon-a-time story a miracle finish. Chevan Cordeiro, who was a Saint Louis School student six months ago, willed the Hawaii football team to a don’t-pinch-me, 35-28 victory over UNLV at Aloha Stadium. Read more
