The original Liliha Bakery opened in 1950 on Kuakini Street.

Liliha Bakery, the 68-year-old local business that delivers fresh baked goods daily, will open a bakery and coffee shop at Macy’s in the Ala Moana Center, occupying the space that formerly housed the Pineapple Room by Alan Wong. The venue is slated to open in early 2019.

The format will be similar to that of Liliha Bakery’s Nimitz Highway location, with a bakery and a restaurant area that seats about 160, plus private rooms that will house about 70, owner Peter Kim said today.

The Ala Moana location will also feature an expanded menu that includes more healthful options, Kim said.

Liliha Bakery opened its original location in 1950 on Kuakini Street and expanded with another bakery and coffee shop on Nimitz Highway in 2014.
