Fire damages 3 schools buses in Ewa

The Honolulu Fire Department and the Honolulu Police Department are investigating a fire that damaged three school buses in Ewa Monday night.

The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.

Police have opened up a first-degree arson case.

Two units with five firefighters responded to the blaze at a fenced area, which is a Robert’s Hawaii bus yard near Kahi Mohala and across 91-23401 Old Fort Weaver Road shortly after 10:50 p.m., said Honolulu Fire Spokesman Capt. Scot Seguirant.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 10 minutes, at 10:58 p.m. and extinguished it just after 12:25 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
