City officials and the Honolulu Film Office said lane closures are scheduled for N. King Street between River Street and Kekaulike Mall in Chinatown today and Friday for the filming of a Legendary feature film.

Production crews from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have been filming “Godzilla vs. Kong” on Oahu since mid-November, and have been spotted at various sites, including Lanai Lookout, the USS Missouri and Manoa Falls.

The following closures are scheduled:

>> From 8:30 a.m. today through 6 a.m. Friday, the mauka lane of N. King Street will be closed. From 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, a second travel lane on N. King Street also will be closed as film crews work near the roadway.

>> From 7 p.m. today through 4 a.m. Friday, three of the four travel lanes on N. King Street will be closed.

While TheBus service will not be diverted by the lane closures, a bus stop (No. 592) on N. King Street near River Street will be closed from 2:30 p.m. on Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday. Riders can catch TheBus at a nearby bus stop (No. 997) on N. King Street near Maunakea Street.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving in the area, if possible, during filming, and to anticipate delays.

“The past year has set a new record for filming in Hawaii and the Honolulu Film Office thanks drivers for their patience,” said the city in a news release. “According to the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), over $400 million of direct expenditures are estimated to have been spent by the industry, which has resulted in over 5,000 jobs and an economic impact that will likely exceed $800 million for the calendar year.”
