Traffic lights on Kalanianaole Highway were back on before 4 p.m. today after a power outage knocked them out for more than an hour.
All traffic lights are working on Kalanianaole Highway in East Honolulu, police said, after a power outage knocked them out for more than an hour this afternoon.
Police issued the all-clear message at about 3:50 p.m. after warning commuters of the traffic light outage at 2:45 p.m.
At 2:10 p.m., Hawaiian Electric Co. officials said 3,090 customers were without power in the Aina Haina area. They said power was restored to all but two customers by 3:40 p.m.

hey the wind and rain didn’t even start yet!
HPD needs to be directing traffic at the key intersections. They failed to do so for the first day of the pipe disaster out there. Honolulu is in desperate disrepair and we build an overpriced outdated rail?
Good luck. HPD can’t even keep its own house in order. All the overtime duty money went to pay off the corrupt chief to get rid of him.
Hope HPD is at every intersection to direct pau hana traffic.
