Christmas tree shortage means higher prices for Hawaii this year

    Christmas tree seller Richard Tajiri, above, said a shortage of noble firs last year has gotten worse this year, partly because a hot summer damaged many trees. Although Tajiri hasn’t raised prices in 15 years, this year he has to adjust the cost because of the shortage.

Sellers of Christmas trees in Honolulu say there will be a shorter supply this year, resulting in an uptick of prices this holiday season. Read more
