Ala Wai boaters wait for state to clear storm debris

Les Parsons, who has lived in the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor for the past 18 years, is frustrated by a collection of storm debris that accumulated over the weekend. Cleaning up the run-off, which comes from the Ala Wai watershed, is the responsibilty of the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.

An employee from the Department Land of Natural Resources used a chainsaw to break apart a stack of wood debris taken from the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor on Thursday. The debris was cleared by a boat owner in the harbor on her own volition.
