Maui authorities charged a 50-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both from Kahului, with first-degree robbery for allegedly robbing a bank in Lahaina, police said today.

Michael Soto and Sandra Kahikina were arrested March 10 for allegedly robbing the Territorial Savings Bank in Lahaina. They were both charged March 11.

Police said a man armed with a gun entered the bank on Feb. 26, gave the teller a bag and demanded she place money inside. He then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Bail was set in the amount of $250,000 for each of the suspects, police said.

They are both scheduled to appear in court for their preliminary hearing April 6.
