2 masked men, one armed, rob Puna couple in home invasion

Hawaii County police are investigating a home invasion robbery Monday in Puna.

Police said two men wearing masks, one armed, entered a Hawaiian Paradise Park home just after 3 a.m. Monday on Ala Heiau Road  through an unlocked door. The intruders confronted a 68-year-old man and his 70-year-old wife and started to remove items from a bedroom, police said.

One of the suspects hit and threatened the man, police said.

The masked men then fled through the back of the house with electronic items, police said.

Suspects face arrest on suspicion of first-degree burglary, first-degree terroristic threatening and third-degree assault.
