2 seriously injured in crash involving Harbor Police vehicle

    Honolulu firefighters respond to the scene of traffic accident involving a Harbor Police vehicle on Nimitz Highway near the Kalihi Kai fire station.

A 47-year-old man and a 57-year-old man were seriously injured n a crash on Nimitz Highway near Waikamilo Road involving a state harbor police vehicle.

Paramedics took the two men to the hospital in serious condition following the accident at about 8:30 a.m. Monday near the Kalihi Kai Fire Station, according to an Emergency Medical Services Divison report.

One other person was reported in stable condition, EMS said.

Traffic camera video showed the accident involved a harbor police vehicle.

A spokesman for the state Department of Transportation said one of the men who went to the hospital was the officer driving the Harbor Police car. The other man was in a Honda Accord that was also involved in the crash.
