Attempted murder suspect charged in alleged attack with car

Police on Friday charged a 30-year-old woman with attempted murder for allegedly striking a 73-year-old woman with her car in Waikiki on Wednesday.

According to police, Jill Anjuli Hansen followed the victim though the security gate of the Diamond Head Apartments parking lot and intentionally hit the woman with her car as the woman exited her vehicle.

A witness broke a window on Hansen’s car in an attempt to stop her from hitting the woman again.

Hansen allegedly left her vehicle behind and fled the scene. She was arrested at her Sea View Avenue apartment later that evening.

Paramedics treated the victim for a serious head wound.

Police said Hansen and the older woman do not know each other and thee was no apparent motive for the attack.

Hansen was charged on Friday evening with second-degree attempted murder. Her bail was set at $1 million.
