Body found in river on Hawaii island

Hawaii Country Fire Department personnel recovered the body of a missing person this afternoon in a river in Papaaloa.

The person’s car was discovered in the river around 1:30 p.m.. Fire rescue personnel located the person’s body about 100 yards away.

The body was airlifted from the area and turned over to police.

The name of the missing person has not yet been released. No other details are yet available.
