Cloudy skies and a 50-percent chance of rain tonight are in the forecast for Honolulu as a lingering cold front stalls near Maui.

National Weather Service forecasters expect partly sunny skies to return Sunday. But scattered showers are possible through the early part of the week as the lingering cold front weakens.

Winds are expected to be light, with stronger trade winds returning about the middle of next week.

Surf on the north shore dropped below advisory levels. But wave faces are still expected to be between 5- to 10-feet Saturday, lowering to 4- to 6-feet Sunday.

West shores can expect 3- to 7-foot surf today. East shores, with a lack of strong winds, should see 1- to 3-foot surf.

A small south shore swell could bring 3- to 5-foot waves this afternoon, lowering to 2- to 4-feet Sunday.

Forecasters say another north swell could arrive Sunday night.
