Early morning standoff in Kaneohe ends peacefully, with arrest

A 52-year-old man barricaded himself in his Kaneohe home for more than three hours and threatened to harm himself early Saturday morning after an argument with his wife, police said. 

The incident began around 12:50 a.m. and ended with the man being arrested on suspicion of abusing a family or household member at 3:15 a.m., according to police records. 

Police said the man became distraught after arguing with his 45-year-old wife and locked himself in the home and threatened to hurt himself with a weapon. He surrendered after negotiations and was arrested without incident, according to police records
