Two inert C4 demolition explosives were discovered in the carry-on bag of a passenger at Honolulu Airport last week.
The Transportation Security Aadministration confiscated two inert replica plastic explosives from the carry-on baggage of a government contractor who was trying to board an early morning flight to Kona last week.
The male passenger was stopped at a Hawaiian Airlines interisland terminal security point with the two inert C4 demolition replica devices on Nov. 11, the TSA reported on its TSA blog.
An inert grenade was also detected at Spokane airport and Airsoft grenades were found in checked baggage at the Minneapolis St. Paul airport in the last two weeks.
“If an item looks like a realistic bomb, grenade, mine, etc. it is prohibited- real or not,” the blog post said. “When these items are found at a checkpoint or in checked baggage, they can cause significant delays in checkpoint screening.”
