A family of three living on Schofield Barracks was displaced this morning after their one-story home on Charlton Street caught fire, a Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said.

Only one family member was home when the fire started around 10:35 a.m., and no one was injured, Capt. Terry Seelig said. Seelig said HFD responded to the scene around 10:40 a.m., about the same time as federal firefighters, and assisted in putting the fire under control within about 10 minutes. Damage to the home was heavy, he said.

Stefanie Gardin of U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii Public Affairs said federal firefighters are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
