A family of five is homeless after their home in Volcano burned down. No one was injured, and the family was not home when the fire broke out on Kokokahi Street in the Fern Forrest subdivision around 4:25 p.m.

Fire crews arrived to find the front of the small, post and pier structure partially collapsed, and later the structure completely collapsed.

A van underneath a burnt out garage tent was scorched in the blaze, officials said.

Officials said the structure was not insured.

Investigators could not determine a cause for the blaze, and damage is estimated at about $10,000.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
