Hawaii County firefighters have ended their search for a 42-year-old Kealakekua man who is believed to have gone diving at a location called “Two Step” near Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park on Wednesday.

Jeremiah Nathan was last seen in the area of the park around 4 p.m.

His unlocked truck was found near the location with keys, wallet and cell phone inside.

Hawaii County fire crews resumed an ocean search for Nathan at first light Sunday with surface and dive operations one mile north and south of Nathan’s possible last known location. A shoreline land search extended to Hookena and air operations spanned from Hookena to Kealakekua.

The efforts yielded no trace of the missing man.

The search was terminated at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
