Heavy rains prompt flood advisory for Oahu

    The flood advisory for Maui is in effect until 3:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Oahu after radar detected stationary heavy rains near Ewa Beach and in East Honolulu near Aina Haina.

The advisory is effective through 7 p.m. Sunday.

Residents are advised to avoid streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding. Rainfall and runoff may also cause hazardous driving conditions.
