Hollywood looks to Kauai for ‘Jurassic’ extras

LIHUE, Hawaii >> Hollywood casting directors returning to Kauai for the latest film in the “Jurassic Park” series are looking for extras.

EBB Tide Productions Casting will be conducting an open casting call March 16 at Kauai Community College.

According to a casting call flyer distributed by Kauai County, casting directors are looking for men, women and children ages 10 to 15, who are comfortable on the water.

The Garden Island reports shooting for “Jurassic World” is scheduled to begin in May, with the movie to hit the theaters in June 2015.

Kauai shooting locations are expected to include Blue Hole, Lawai, Olokele Valley and Hanapepe Valley.

In addition to the dinosaur films, Kauai has served as a backdrop for other movies including “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Blue Hawaii.”
