Honolulu Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha today announced the promotions of 27 officers, including a new assistant chief.

Police Maj. Robert Green, a 20-year Honolulu Police Department veteran, has been promoted to assistant chief. Green will command the regional patrol bureau, which includes district 2 (Wahiawa), district 3 (Pearl City), district 4 (Kailua-Kaneohe-Kahuku), and district 8 (Kapolei-Waianae). 

Green has spent much of his career working in patrol. For the last three years, he led the department’s training division. His promotion will take effect on Oct. 6.

Kealoha also promoted two officers to the rank of lieutenant, Kyle Yonemura and Aaron Young. In addition, the chief named 15 new sergeants and detectives; and 9 corporals.
