A 70-year-old man went to the hospital in serious to critical condition after a moped accident on Kalanianaole Highway in Waialae Iki Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The accident happened at about 4:10 p.m. east of Waa Street.
Police said the man was changing lanes and ran over a lane reflector as he moved to the center lane.
He lost control and was ejected from the 2012 moped, traveling in the town-bound lanes.
Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
The accident happened in clear weather and it is unknown if speed or alcohol were factors, police said.
