An traffic violation Saturday night in Pearl City led police to an alleged car thief, according to police records. 

Police said a patrol officer stopped a vehicle around 10:35 p.m. after he observed the driver commit a traffic violation while headed eastbound on Moanalua Road near the H-1 on-ramp.

The officer discovered that the vehicle was stolen and arrested the driver, a 27-year-old Salt Lake man, on suspicion of unauthorized control of a motorized vehicle, according to police records.
