City prosecutors charged a 36-year-old Waianae man for allegedly trying to rob two men at a Makaha parking lot at gunpoint.

Police said Jesse Cole pointed a gun at the two men Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. When the two men refused to give the suspect money, he fled in a car.

Officers arrested him 45 minutes later near a 7-Eleven convenience store on Farrington Highway on suspicion of first-degree robbery and two firearms violations. His bail was set Thursday at $50,000.
