Police are searching for Justin Wynn Klein, 37, after he allegedly threw a tourist from a cliff near Kalalau Beach, critically injuring her.

A Kauai grand jury indicted a 37-year-old homeless man Thursday with attempted murder for allegedly pushing a visitor from Japan off a cliff near Kalalau Beach.

Meanwhile, suspect Justin Wynn Klein remained at large Friday, and the Kauai Police Department asked the public for help finding him.

A witness reported seeing Klein push the woman from a cliff Dec. 16. She fell about 15 feet and was admitted to Wilcox Hospital in critical condition. She was released from the hospital Thursday.

The victim, 31, is a visitor from Japan who was camping in the Kalalau Valley, the Kauai prosecutor’s office said.

Klein is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a brown mohawk, possibly a moustache and a beard, and a tribal band tattoo on his left arm.

He is considered dangerous and should not be approached, police said. Anyone with information on Klein’s whereabouts is urged to call Kauai police at 241-1711.
