A man who died last week from injuries sustained in a scooter crash earlier this month has been identified by the city medical examiner’s department as Daniel Bogert, 33.

Bogert, of Hawaii Kai, died Jan. 18 from injuries sustained in a crash at about 3 p.m. on Jan. 2. Police said that Bogert’s scooter had just gotten off the H-1 Freeway westbound King Street offramp and was on Old Waialae Road near the Hawaiian Humane Society when he lost control and crashed.

He was sent by Emergency Medical Services personnel in critical condition to the hospital.

Bogert’s death is the fifth on Oahu in 2013. There were two fatals at this time in 2012.
