Medical Examiner IDs men found on Oahu beaches

The Medical Examiner’s Office identified two men whose bodies were found on separate Oahu beaches Tuesday.

The cause of death for Ronald Patricio,  61, of Hauula, was drowning, the Medical Examiner’s Office said. The case is classified as an accident.

Patricio was unconscious when he was found floating in the waters off Punaluu around 2 p.m.  He had been free-diving and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of death for Robert Garces, 48, of Mililani, has been deferred.

His body was discovered around 12:45 p.m. on a beach in Waialua.
