A Mililani man helped stop a prospective thief from stealing items from his neighbor’s car Saturday night, Honolulu police said.
The witness told police he detained the 33-year-old man, also from Mililani, around 11:08 p.m. after he saw him rummaging through his neighbor’s vehicle. Police arrived and arrested the suspect around 11:21 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, according to police records.
