Hawaii County police have charged a second man in connection with the disappearance of 44-year-old Dante Peter Gilman of Hawaiian Acres.

Kawena K. Krause, 19, of Kuristown, was charged Saturday with second-degree murder.

Gilman was last seen on Dec. 30 and was reported missing on Jan. 10. Further investigation led police to believe that Gilman may have been the victim of a homicide.

Police had previously charged Krause’s cousin, Claude K. Krause, 30, of Kuristown, with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree theft, two counts of possession of a firearm prohibited, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony.

Both men remain in custody pending their initial court appearances Tuesday.
