Police arrested a theft suspect who tried unsuccessfully to flee the scene after police confronted him in Waikiki Thursday afternoon.
Police said the 18-year-old man was seen going into a vehicle in Waikiki at about 12:30 p.m. and ran away when police arrived. But officers were able to apprehend and arrest him on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
