Linebacker Manti Te’o will miss the San Diego Chargers’ season opener on Monday Night Football, the team said Saturday.
Te’o has been sidelined since early August with a foot injury sustained in the Chargers’ first preseason game.
The North Shore native and Punahou School graduate has worn a boot on his foot in recent weeks and has not practiced for several weeks.
There was no further announcement of his condition.
