Trapasso promotes Fraticelli to assistant

Hawaii baseball coach Mike Trapasso confirmed Monday that he has promoted Carl Fraticelli to a full-time assistant with the Rainbow Warriors.

Fraticelli, who worked as a volunteer coach under Trapasso since 2010, joins Rusty McNamara as Trapasso’s two full-time assistants.

Fraticelli will be the lead hitting coach, with McNamara, who held those duties each of the last three years, assisting him.

The move comes less than two months after pitching coach Chad Konishi was not retained after 12 years on the staff.
