Ala Moana woman charged with putting chokehold on girlfriend

A 33-year-old Ala Moana woman has been charged with holding her girlfriend in a chokehold and threatening her with a knife and pistol, police said.

Alice Dos was charged with two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening on Tuesday. She remained at the Oahu Community Correctional Center on Wednesday with a bail of $11,000.

On Saturday, Dos demanded a ring back from her 37-year-old girlfriend while holding a large knife, causing the girlfriend to fear Dos would cut her finger off to get the ring back, a police affidavit in District Court says.

The victim also told police Dos grabbed a Glock pistol by the barrel and walked toward her with the gun raised as if she would pistol whip her, the document says. Dos then allegedly wrapped her arm around the victim’s neck, making it difficult for her to breath for about three minutes.

The altercation occurred in the couple’s Kahakai Drive apartment, and police arrested Dos at the unit on Monday.
