An attempted car theft in Kalihi went awry Thursday when the alleged thief drove into another vehicle.
According to police, a 67-year-old woman was loading her vehicle when the suspect, a 49-year-old man, drove away with it.
The stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle before the suspect was finally able drive away from the area, police said. He was subsequently located and arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, theft, criminal property damage, and contempt.
No major injuries were reported.
