A 20-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly stole a car and tried to park it in a neighboring driveway.

The victim, a 24-year-old Waikele woman, told police she awoke around 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning to find her residence had been entered and her vehicle taken without permission.

As she was awaiting for police to arrive, she saw her vehicle being parked in a neighbor’s driveway. Police arrested the driver, who now faces charges of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and first-degree burglary.
