Large surf on the North Shore on Wednesday, January 21, 2014.

North-facing shores of Oahu, Maui and Molokai and north- and west-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau are under a high surf advisory until 6 a.m. Monday, The National Weather Service announced Sunday.

A building northwest swell is expected to generate advisory level surf through the night, including 10 to 15 feet surf along all affected shores, the NWS said.
