Hundreds of box jellyfish came ashore on Oahu Sunday morning.

Lifeguards counted some 300 box jellyfish at Waikiki beaches, and at least 60 swimmers were stung.

At Maili, 70 jellyfish were counted and 130 were found at Makaha. There were no stings reported at Maili and one at Makaha.

The monthly box jellyfish influx is likely to continue through Tuesday.

Swimmers should check for box jellyfish warnings before entering the water.
