A state judge revoked bail Monday morning for a self-proclaimed professional surfer accused of running over an elderly woman and attempting to steal the woman’s car.
Jill Hansen, 30, of Manoa, is awaiting trial for attempted murder, entering and attempting to drive the woman’s car. Her bail was $1 million.
Hansen was supposed to appear in court June 16 on the prosecutor’s request to deny her bail but she refused to be transported to court from Oahu Community Correctional Center.
Circuit Judge Edward Kubo, Jr., rescheduled the hearing for Monday but ordered Hansen held in custody without bail in the meantime.
Honolulu police said Hansen drove into and hit 73-year-old Elizabeth Conklin in a Waikiki apartment building parking garage after Conklin exited her own car on May 14. They said Hansen attempted to hit Conklin two more times then attempted drive off in Conklin’s car.
Conklin survived but suffered head and other injuries.
Hansen is also awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting a fellow surfer on April 18.
